boricua

she’s more beautiful
than J-Lo;
more down to earth
than J-Law;

I see something
beyond anyone
else could possibly
imagine.

But if I could stop
for one moment
to speak about
timing;
the timing of this poem
the timing of the marriage
the timing of the brief moment
of
unforgettable bliss.

dreams are often just that,
dreams: some are to be
pursued, while others
are just our mind
fucking
with
us.

I dream often
of this P.R.
beauty:
vibrant
vivacious
humerous
ebullient
effervescent
spirited
and most importantly;
inspiring.

And yet,
timing…
timing…
time…
it keeps moving
towards something
that we’ll never
understand, while
regrets
continue
to pile up
until one day,
they eventually
collapse
and are
eulogized
amongst
the remaining.

Recently moved back to the States after living 16 months in Vietnam. I write to remove the thoughts trapped in the cobwebs of my psyche before the spider envelopes me whole.
