a gram and girls

I lost a gram
but I met a girl
in a flannel shirt
and
a blonde girl
and
a
bi-racial girl
and
another
bi-racial girl

they all loved my poetry
this all seems too easy
because i love them all
because they appear
to
love
me.

i can’t even call myself a poet
but none of these women
have read
the
great
writers
so I get away
with murder;
literary murder.

but I’m okay with being categorized
as a poet
by these
women
because they are the ladies
who
actually matter in this world…

at least to me.
