Drowning in the ocean,
in deep waters,
fins circling the flesh,
starfish floating by on top of the backs of jellyfish,
I’m surprisingly calm but jittery,
trying to catch a ride on a porpoise,
but it’s not close enough,
avoiding me on purpose,
still drowning,
losing breath,
swallowing the water,
the sun beating down on the top of my head,
but starting to cool down,
as I finally drown.
