true love

for some odd reason,
I thought you were meant to fill the gaping hole in my heart
resulting from a most unforgivable betrayal,
but it turns out you were only here to smooth out the edges of the crater
in order for something perfectly sized to fill that unattainable need;
we’ll always seek it, despite our best efforts to go life alone.

we’re a never-ending constant mess, life-long miserable beings,
forever hoping to be fulfilled by someone that wants the same thing,
thus creating a magnetic effect,
and since we’re identical in our desire,
we’re constantly pushing each other away,
while our polar opposites are the beings attracted to us.

I guess that’s true love; a fucking paradox.

Recently moved back to the States after living 16 months in Vietnam. I write to remove the thoughts trapped in the cobwebs of my psyche before the spider envelopes me whole.
